Render Painting Services in Oxford
Smooth and Fine-Textured Render
Smooth sand-and-cement render is found on a broad range of Oxford properties. Surface preparation, crack filling, and two coats of quality masonry paint. Colour change is the most frequent reason for the call. We also offer dedicated conservatory painting services.
Hairline Cracks and Repairs
Hairline cracking in rendered surfaces is normal. Left untreated, water enters the cracks and widens them over successive seasons. We fill cracks with flexible exterior filler before any paint is applied.
K-Rend and Polymer Render
K-Rend can be painted if the surface has weathered, stained unevenly, or the owner wants a different colour. Applying incompatible products causes peeling. We identify the render type before specifying the product.
Lime Render on Period Properties
Oxford’s Victorian and Edwardian villas in North Oxford frequently have lime-based render. Standard masonry paint traps moisture and causes failure. We use breathable mineral or lime-compatible systems. See our exterior painting page for full detail.
Biological Growth Treatment
Algae, lichen, and moss are common on north-facing rendered elevations. We apply a mould treatment after pressure washing before any paint goes on. Pebbledash is a separate specialist service where breathable paint is always required.

Our Render Painting Process
1. Surface Assessment
We inspect the render condition, checking for cracks, biological growth, surface contamination, and areas requiring filling.
2. Pressure Washing
The rendered surface is washed to remove algae, dirt, and loose material.
3. Mould Treatment
Applied where biological growth is present and allowed to work fully.
4. Crack Filling
Hairline cracks are filled with flexible exterior filler.
5. Masking
Windows, doors, sills, and surrounding elements are masked.
6. Priming
Bare or repaired areas receive a masonry primer before the finish coat.
7. Two Finish Coats
Applied by roller and brush, or spray for larger properties.

Prices below are estimates only. Every property is different. Call 01865 537996 for a precise quote.

What Drives the Price

Breathable Systems Premium
Breathable mineral and lime-compatible systems cost more per litre than standard masonry paint. Properties in conservation areas may carry a further premium depending on paint system requirements. We also offer dedicated masonry painting services.
